HortiFlora Expo Ethiopia 2013 marks significant promotion to the nation

ADDIS ABABA- “The recently conducted (March 20 – 22, 2013) HortiFlora Expo Ethiopia 2013 Exhibition bolstered its images and  managed Ethiopia to attract international buyers,” the international tradefair organizer, HPP Exhibitions in its web pages indicated.

According to the organizer, the HortiFlora Ethiopia Exhibition 2013 concluded in a satisfactory result for most of its exhibitors. It also said that both prime exhibiting parties, i.e. growers and suppliers, were able to meet with the ones they wanted to see. Growers received a considerable number of flower buyers in their respective stands, from Russia, Middle East, Europe and even the USA, and suppliers were happy to meet with many owners of the farms. The website further indicated that over 100 companies exhibited their products in the fair and more than 1200 people visited the three day trade fair. Most visitors were directly related to the floriculture industry but a growing number were also linked to the vegetable and fruit industry, it added.The Exhibition was opened by the Industry Minister H.E. Mekonnen Manyazewal.

HORTIFLORA 2013 FURTHERING THE HORTICTURE DEVEOPMENT

EHPEA is organizing the biannual International trade fair for the fifth time as “HORTIFLORA ETHIOPIA 2013” to be held from March 20-22, 2013 at the Addis Ababa Millennium Hall.

The event will be a real showcase and interactive platform for buyers, growers, breeders, freight forwarders, freighters, service providers and suppliers from all over the world composed of leading companies with International reputations. “HORTIFLORA ETHIOPIA 2013” will be an event for promoting innovative knowledge and technologies including exhibits of agricultural inputs, irrigation equipments, greenhouses, seeds and seedlings, harvesting equipments, packing materials, safety devices, agricultural machinery and equipments, chemical sprayers, cooling equipments, communication equipments, etc.

It is a three days event where the experiences, potentials and policy frameworks of venturing in horticulture sector will be explored; producers will display their products for furthering their market reaches and relevant governmental offices will present their incentives to attract more investors in the sector……

Entrepreneurs, academia, researchers, social workers, policy makers, consultants, farmers, financiers, input suppliers, are among those who used the EHPEA information service so far.

Nevertheless, the exorbitance in amount and diversification of the information demand coupled with requirement for efficient information dissemination system and reliable data provision have necessitated for better documentation scheme as well as dissemination mechanism with EHPEA.

EHPEA General Assembly passed key resolutions on membership and training Service

The General Assembly called by the new executive committee passed key resolutions regarding how treat outstanding payment of membership fee, membership conditions & training cost sharing amount and training cost.

The General Assembly was held at the Intercontinental Addis Ababa on September 21,2012. On the occasion, external Audit report for the period of 2011/12 presented by the external Auditor.

Mr. Marc Driessen, EHPEA Executive Committee member, has presented his review on membership and trainings given by EHPEA.

Ethiopian Flowers week celebrated in Moscow

Flower products of Ethiopia were exhibited at the Ethiopian Flower week which is held from August 17 - 19, 2012 in Russia Moscow.

The Ethiopian delegation to Moscow was headed by Ethiopian Agriculture Minister H.E Ato Tefera Derbew and the Ethiopian flag carrier Ethiopian Airlines made a special trip to Russia to transport the flowers.

Representing the flower producers in Ethiopia, delegates from ET- Highland Flora, Yasin Farm, Minaye, ZK Flower and Friendship Flower attended the event.
